Our Vision

The Wrekin Trust and Wrekin Forum have their roots in the work established by Sir George Trevelyan and those that worked with him.

Sir George’s vision was to found a University for Spirit in the meaning of University as turning towards the one. A way of describing this is the bringing together of all perspectives and allowing these to sit together in a creative space - to deepen knowledge, encourage new insights and fresh ideas, and develop discernment with the organising principle of love rather than of fear. From this there flows our vision of deepening spiritual connection and unity in diversity through exchange and understanding.

This is not an old work, it is THE perennial work. For is there any other spiritual work than the raising of consciousness in all its forms and in all of its different modes of expression and supporting the development of the personal qualities needed for wise use of that increased consciousness?

It is for each new generation, each new group, to work with the knowledge and the principles of spirituality in ways that are fresh, vibrant, bursting with life and relevant to their time. Our time is one of rapid change, great opportunity and, great challenge too. It is also a time when the impulse for consciousness to awaken is very actively present.

We are providing a variety of ways for spiritually awake and awakening organisations and individuals to deepen their spiritual connection together. We are encouraging celebration of the unity in our diverse work. We are encouraging learning from each other. We are providing new opportunities for members of the wider public to discover what spiritual connections are available.

We are encouraging spiritual learning and spiritual study. Our diverse Associates and our own learning programmes offer a range of opportunities for study from which members of the public can choose what suits their needs. We are actively looking to build connections into commerce, industry, education etc. and then to encourage connection between all areas. In these ways the Wrekin Trust is contributing to the effectiveness of the impulse to awaken that which is already very active within society and supporting society in choosing wisely the ways in which the increased ability to see, hear and know are used.

Some of these components can be found elsewhere but the Wrekin Trust sees the need to build the infrastructure to enable the drawing together of all these elements in this way. This is why we have established the Wrekin Forum (Click here for more details on the Wrekin Forum).
