The Wrekin Forum is part of a world-wide movement towards personal and planetary transformation at a time of major social change. It seeks to awaken and revitalise a spiritual dimension in society and to encourage the emergence of a culture of love, a culture of healing and forgiveness, a culture of wisdom and a culture of harmony with nature.
The Wrekin Forum was founded by the Wrekin Trust (registered Charity 262303) established in 1971 by Sir George Trevelyan Bt. In 1982 the Wrekin Trust received a Right Livelihood Award for “forming an essential contribution to making life more whole, healing our planet and uplifting humanity.”

"When faced with a radical crisis, when the old way of being in the world, of interacting with each other and with the realm of nature doesn’t work any more, when survival is threatened by seemingly insurmountable problems, an individual human – or a species - will either die or become extinct or rise above the limitations of their conditioning through an evolutionary leap. This is the state of humanity now, and this is its challenge." Eckhart Tolle.
AN UNFOLDING VISION
The unique role of the Forum is to bring together visionary individuals and organisations and to support their diverse work in seeking to deepen spiritual connection across society. By exchanging ideas and perceptions in a supportive environment and by combining resources and skills, a greater synergy can be created and projects of local, regional and even national significance can be initiated.

The above diagram illustrates areas of current interest to which Associates are contributing.
“Spirituality is a state of connectedness to life. It is an experience of being, belonging and caring. It is sensitivity and compassion, joy and hope It is the harmony between the innermost life and the outer life, or the life of the world and the life universal.” U.Thant, Secretary General of the United Nations 1961-1971
REGIONAL OUTREACH
Following our major international conference in 2006 on the “Emerging Spirituality Revolution: Embodying the Spiritual Imperative of our Time”, we are collaborating with associated regional centres and establishing a network of co-ordinators as well as arranging regional round tables. This will be followed by a proposal for ‘Cafés Spirituels’ where people can meet and exchange informally about the key spiritual issues of our time. We are also working with a pilot initiative for a regional multi-faith alliance.
RESOURCES FOR PROVIDERS AND SEEKERS
Our website is growing as an informative and helpful resource. A printed resource directory provides details of all Associates.
SUPPORTING SCHOOLS
We have a Forum initiative for supporting teachers bringing spirituality into schools to meet the Government’s own national curriculum targets.
SUPPORTING YOUTH
We are helping to bring spirituality into youth work through collaborative provision and the development of training programmes for trainers.
ADULT LEARNING
We offer programmes on contemporary spirituality, training in facilitating participative spiritual inquiry and easy progression routes to learning opportunities offered by associates.
RAISING THE PUBLIC PROFILE
We are continuing to build a strong voice in responding to government initiatives and providing a non-sectarian spiritual perspective on contemporary themes and issues.
“The development of a balanced, wholesome spirituality which relates to our political, economic, scientific, educational and cultural activities, as well as to our personal lives, is the most urgent task that humanity has to address in the new millennium” Prof. Ursula King
